These Men are visual artist and pianist Phil Moody and sound artist and violinist Ian Tothill. They join together to create responsive reflective audio visual pieces based on the environment they are working in. The duo use a minimalist approach to explore relationships between sound, music and imagery. The films and audio interact to draw the audience in to look and listen closely to subtle changes in texture and dynamics. Some of the work is improvised at the performance, some devised in the studio. These Men work in any kind of setting - public spaces, galleries, music venues, the hills of Yorkshire. They are exploring the beauty in the everyday, the rhythms found in speech and sound, the quality of the simplest music.
